Held the First Friday of each month, May through October, the streets of downtown Murphy come alive with art and music.  5-8 P.M.

John C Campbell Folk School


 Located in scenic Brasstown, North Carolina, the Folk School offers year-round classes for adults in craft, art, music, dance, cooking, gardening, nature studies, photography and writing.

Cedar Valley Farmers Market


Every Saturday morning, April through October, at the L&N Depot in Murphy.  Fresh, organic food and local crafts available all season long.

Piney Knob Mountain Bike Trails


The town of Murphy plans to construct 22.3 miles of recreational hiking and mountain biking trails on the Murphy Watershed property off of Piney Knob Hill Road.

The Art, Music and River Festival

A fun filled day along the river featuring our best artists and musicians.  You can even take a free canoe or kayak ride in the river!

Cherokee County Arts Council


The Mission of the Cherokee County Arts Council is to promote and increase access to all forms of art in our county and in our local schools!



Our goal is to conserve and restore the lands and waters of the Southern Blue Ridge, and to connect the people to these natural treasures.
